Bio

Andy Fitzgerald enters his second year as an Assistant Coach and Student Athlete Success Coordinator at Bryant & Stratton College.

Prior to accepting the position, Fitzgerald served as the Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach at Lake Forest College for the 2016-17 season where he helped lead the program to a 14-11 record while advancing to the conference championship.

Prior to Lake forest, Fitzgerald served as the Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach and full time professor/academic advisor in the Sport Management Program at UW-Parkside (NCAA DII in Kenosha, WI). At UW-Parkside he managed all coaching duties and taught up to six classes a semester, while advising a total of fourty students. Throughout his time at UW-Parktside, Fitzgerald compiled a record of 51-10 in two seasons and helped the program win the GLVC East Conference title both seasons. The program was ranked as high as #8 in the country and made the NCAA tournament both years as #2 seed in 2015 and a #1 seed in 2016. Both years the team advanced to the second round. 

From 2012 to 2014, Fitzgerald served as the Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach at Edgewood College (NCAA DIII) in Madison, WI) where he performed all coaching duties and helped the program reach a conference championship appearance in 2014.

Prior to Edgewood College, Fitzgerald served as the Basketball Operations Assistant at Florida State University where he assisted the Director of Basketball Operations in all aspects of the Leonard Hamilton summer basketball camps. He was also a Graduate Assistant in the Athletic Department where he worked in the ticket office and taught undergrad PE classes in basketball, golf, and tennis.

As a player, Fitzgerald competed at UW-Parkside (NCAA DII) from 2007-2011 where he earned 1st team GLVC all-academic team each season and was selected to the NABC Honors Court in 2011.

From 2010-2011, Fitzgerald accepeted an Intern/Assistant Coach  position at the Prairie School for basketball and Athletic Director (Racine, WI) where he ran preseason conditioning and open gyms for boys’ and girls’ basketball. At that time Fitzgerald was responsible for overseeing the Middle School Basketball League.

Fitzgerald has assisted in coaching and athletic operations at many prestigious camps including Florida State University, University of Wisconsin and Marquette University. He is a member of the WBCA, IBCA, and NABC. 

Fitzgerald holds a B.S. Sport Management from UW-Parkside (2010) with Economics and Coaching Minors while graduating with honors. He also holds a M.S. in Sport Management from Florida State University (2012) with a Coaching Concentration and graduated with honors. Fitzgerald earned an MBA from Edgewood College (2014) while graduating with honors. 

Fitzgerald resides in Oak Creek, WI with his wife Mandy.
