MILWAUKEE, Wis. (February 21, 2017) – Bryant & Stratton College is proud to announce that Alexandra Villalobos from Maine East High School (Park Ridge, Ill.) has officially committed to putting on a Bobcats softball jersey for the spring 2018 inaugural season.
Villalobos marks as the second student-athlete to sign with Bryant & Stratton College and Head coach Troy Engibous is extremely excited about bringing her on board.
"I couldn't be more excited to have Alex on board next fall," Engibous said. "She is not only going to be a great pitcher for us but she is also a great student and I look forward to watching her succeed at the collegiate level over the next two years."
Villalobos competed at the varsity level all four years at Maine East as well as the Windy City Rage which is a competitive travel team based out of Chicago.
A versatile player, Villalobos will be noted as the 'ace' pitcher for the Bobcats but also will see time in the outfield.
It is safe to say that Villalobos will be taking on a major role for the Bobcats inaugural season but that only brings out the excitement in her.
"I am most excited about starting something great," Villalobos said. "I am given the opportunity to start a new program with great people and can't wait to see what the future awaits."
An outstanding student-athlete, Villalobos will be in the Occupational Therapy Assistant program at Bryant & Stratton and spectators can see her wearing the number seven jersey on the field.
Engibous will continue recruiting high school senior student-athletes for the fall 2017 semester as the team will begin scrimmages against other collegiate teams this fall to prepare for the official spring 2018 inaugural season.
