MILWAUKEE, Wis. (April 20, 2017) – Bryant & Stratton College is pleased to announce the signing of two softball recruits Samantha Flannery and Brooke Masi. Both athletes will be joining the softball team for its 2018 inaugural season.
Flannery comes from Kenosha, Wisconsin where she competed on the varsity softball team at Indian Trail high school.
A phenomenal utility player, Flannery has Head coach Troy Engibous very excited about her natural ability on the diamond.
"I am very excited for Sam and this opportunity to continue her education and softball career," Engibous said. "She brings a powerful bat and a lot of versatility on defense which I like."
Also from Kenosha, Masi comes in as an outstanding shortstop, outfielder, and may also see time at 3rd base next year.
Masi attends Kenosha High School where she has been competing on the varsity team and known for her quickness on the diamond.
"Brooke will bring a lot of speed to our team which is something I love about the game of softball," Engibous said. "Her excitement about continuing her career on the field and in the classroom is something I enjoy seeing out of the athletes."
Both Flannery and Masi will finish out there high school seasons and then look forward to continuing their education and softball careers at Bryant & Stratton College.
"I am so appreciative to be moving on with the next step of my life at Bryant & Stratton College," Flannery said. "Coach Troy has given me the greatest opportunity to do the things I love and for that I am thankful."
Masi had many similar feelings about joining the Bryant & Stratton College family.
"Coach Troy has given me the chance to do great things with my career and athletic ability," Masi said. "I can't thank him enough and can't wait to be a part of this first year program."
Spectators can see Flannery in jersey No. 19 and Masi wearing No. 13 on the diamond.
Engibous will continue recruiting high school senior student-athletes for the fall 2017 semester as the team will begin scrimmages against other collegiate teams this fall to prepare for the official spring 2018 inaugural season.
