WAUWATOSA, WI (January 28, 2019) - Shortly after announcing the addition of beach volleyball to Bryant & Stratton College's rapidly growing athletic department, the administration hired current head women's volleyball coach Heather Curley to serve as the head beach volleyball coach for the inaugural spring 2020 season.
Bryant & Stratton made the announcement of adding beach volleyball in November 2018 and is currently the only college in Wisconsin to offer the sport.
The program will compete at the Division I level which allows Bryant & Stratton the ability to offer athletic scholarships along with its 12 other NJCAA sports programs.
"I am excited to take on the additional role of the beach volleyball coach," Curley said. "The challenge of building a program from the ground up excites me and I have already started recruiting some very talented athletes."
Beach volleyball will be competed in a two-on-two format and hold a full-size roster of atleast six players.
Curley began coaching at Bryant & Stratton in May of 2018 and was responsible for launching the inaugural program this past season. In its first season, Bobcats volleyball went 15-11 as well as earned the programs first-ever Region IV playoff appearance.
"It was an easy decision to have coach Curley take on the role of the beach volleyball head coach," Associate Athletic Director Ryan Ratajewski said. "She has done a remarkable job with our indoor team and we have no doubt that she will do a great job with the beach team."
Curley is recruiting for the 2020 season. Interested recruits should fill out the Bryant & Stratton recruitment FORM.
