#9 rank lady Bobcats in a marquee matchup today against #7 Illinois Central
The Bryant and Stratton College Bobcat Women's Basketball team was recently voted ninth in the nation in the NJCAA by the Division II Women's Basketball Poll Committee. The #9 placement is the highest in the history of the young program.
La'Janique Perry-Ellis has led the way for the Bobcats throughout this season so far. Last week, in her game against McHenry College, Perry-Ellis scored 19 points on 5-9 FG and 9-11 at the charity stripe. She also tacked on 10 rebounds and 3 assists. Against Waubonsee, Perry Ellis scored 16 points, on 6-14 from the field, with 8 rebounds and 6 assists. This performance in these recent games earned Perry-Ellis the Region 4 Player of the Week honors. The Freshman Guard leads the team with 16.6 PPG and 3.2 APG on the season.
The other most notable star for this young Bobcats team has been Marleah Drake. Drake is second on the team with 12.6 PPG and is frequently a key contributor from beyond the arc, shooting an outstanding 40.7% from deep this season.
The Bobcats currently sit at 11-5 and will look to keep up this great momentum in a marquee matchup against #7 Illinois Central. The Cougars handed the Bobcats their most recent loss back on December 29, in a 90-89 classic. The Bobcats will look for revenge today at home, tip-off is scheduled for 5:30 PM.
