MILWAUKEE, Wis. (November 9, 2017) – The Bryant & Stratton College men's basketball team traveled to Plymouth, IN yesterday to compete against the Ancilla College Chargers. The Bobcats fell short 76-61 in a hard fought battle through the end.
Ancilla College competes in the NJCAA Division II Region XII.
At the start of the first half, the Bobcats led the Chargers by four but went cold from the field. The Chargers took advantage of the cold shooting and went on a major run mid-way through the half.
At the break the Bobcats trailed 49-25, which led Bobcats head coach Brian Richert to make mutiple adjustments in the second half.
"We executed very well the first five minutes of the half," Richert said. "Our shots just would not fall and we struggled getting stops defensively."
Despite a 24-point deficit to start the second half, the Bobcats managed to cut the lead to 12 midway through the half but failed to complete the entire comeback.
"The second half we played much better," Richert said. "We outscored them 36 to 27 and defended very well. We will carry over how we played in the second half to our next game."
Lincoln Wieseman (Lake Geneva, WI) led the Bobcats with 16 points followed by Brian Bearden (Germantown, WI) with 15 points.
Luka Kristijan (Croatia) added 10 points and three rebounds. Jeffrey Steel (Miami, FL) tacked on eight points and two steals.
Up next for the Bobcats is Western Technical College. The Bobcats will travel to Lacrosse, WI on Saturday for a 3:00pm contest.
Richert and his staff will look to go on the road and capture their first win of the season.
