MILWAUKEE, WIS. (December 18, 2017) – The Bryant & Stratton men's basketball team went on the road Saturday to Kalamazoo, MI where they defeated the Kalamazoo Valley Community College Tigers 75-68. This marked as the third win in-a-row for the Bobcats as they improved to one game above .500 and 4-3 in region play.
The Tigers compete in the NJCAA Region XII and fall to 3-8 overall on the season.
On a roll lately, the Bobcats came into the contest looking to carry over their success from the previous two contests and that is exactly what they did.
Despite the Tigers physicality, the Bobcats were able to lead 38-32 at the end of the first half.
"This is a very talented and tough team," Bobcats head coach Brian Richert said. "We knew we were going to have to be strong down low and match their aggresiveness"
Shooting over 60% from the field, the Bobcats executed offensively throughout the entire second half.
"We shot the ball very well and executed down the stretch," Richert said. "It was a tough battle by both sides and I am proud of my guys for getting this win."
The Bobcats out-rebounded the Tigers 34-31 and went on their way to capturing their seventh win of the season.
Lincoln Wieseman (Lake Geneva, WI) led the Bobcats with 15 points on five of eight shooting from the field.
Brian Bearden (Germantown, WI) tacked on 12 points and seven rebounds.
Up next for the Bobcats is a Region IV contest vs the McHenry County College Scots on Tuesday at 7:15pm.
The Scots currently stand at 4-7 overall and 4-7 in the region.
