WAUWATOSA, WI (May 31, 2018) – Bryant & Stratton College's head men's basketball coach, Matt Majkrzak, has been on roll signing top talent this off-season after accepting the position back in March. This past week four players, Javaris Roberts, Dacorian Hymond, Tyrese Walter-Lawrence and Ryley Clark all committed to wearinga Bobcat uniform for the 2018-19 season and will be a vital part of the the mission in helping Bryant & Stratton to a regional title.
Out of Milwaukee Juneau High School, Roberts earned First Team All-Conference and eclipsed the 1,000-point club.
"Jarvis is an electrifying point guard who can push the tempo in our system," Majkrzak said. "He's just a joy to watch play basketball and tough as they come. He is a prolific scorer but equally impressive with the way he can pressure the ball and get his teammates involved."
The 5'5" point guard averaged 19 points and five assists per game in high school and competed on the Milwaukee Running Rebels AAU program in the off-season.
From Fort Worth, Texas, Hymond joins the Bobcats after averaging six points, five rebounds and two assists per game at Martin High School.
"DaCorian is a tough forward that is not afraid to mix it up inside or step out and hit a jump shot," Majkrzak said. "He is a great kid from a quality high school program and really understands how to play the game."
The 6'4" forward competed on Texas Express in the off-season which is a competitive AAU program.
Out of West London, England, Lawrence comes from Canterbury High School where he averaged 14.3 points and 4.2 rebounds per game.
"On the floor Tyrese is exactly the type of guard we look for as he can space the floor with his shooting and attack the basket with aggression," Majkrzak said. "He's ranked in the top 20 by all the major recruiting services in England and I'm excited to see the impact he can make for our program."
Wisconsin native, Clark, comes out of Franklin High School where he averaged 12 points, four rebounds and three assists per game while earning Third Team All-Conference.
"Ryley is another tough and competitive guard who makes shots," Majkrzak said. "He has been extremely well coached and consistently makes the right basketball play. Coming from a Franklin program that has had a ton of success; he understands what goes into winning."
The 6'2" wing competed on on the Young Lions AAU program in the off-season.
With the addition of these four highly-talented players coming in this fall, Coach Majkrzak will have high expectations for the season.
"Adding four more outstanding student-athletes is very exciting for our program."Majkrzak said. "All four are academic qualifiers and chose Bryant & Stratton because of the outstanding academic and athletic opportunities our program can offer."
After signing multiple players from other states and countries, Majkrzak has shown that he will recruit where he needs to in order to find the right players that fit his program.
"Being able to draw top local players as well as players from Texas and the United Kingdom shows the kind of potential we have to grow our program in a variety of ways," Majkrzak said. "I'm excited to get to work with this group."
The Bobcats season will begin early Novemeber as practices start this October. Coach Majkrzak and his staff will begin to strategize for a long season as they hope to make a strong playoff run.
