WAUWATOSA, WI (November 15, 2018) - Back in early April, Bryant & Stratton College's men's basketball shooting guard, Manny Jingco, marked as the first recruit to sign with the Bobcats for the 2018-19 season and will now be taking his talents to Concordia University-St. Paul after signing his national letter of intent for 2019-20 season.
The 6'1" guard out of Roseville, MN, will be competing in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) which consists of NCAA Division II college's located in Minnesota, South Dakota, North Dakota, Iowa and Nebraska.
"I am extremely excited for Manny on his commitment to Concordia-St. Paul as I have a ton of respect for their coaching staff and know it will be a great fit for him," Bobcats head coach Matt Majkrzak said. "Early on this year when we talked about potential landing spots for Manny, Concordia-St. Paul was the first school he mentioned. Manny signing with his priority school worked out perfectly."
Averaging 14.0 points per game on 43.2% shooting from the field thus far, Jingco has certainly played some quality minutes for the Bobcats this season.
"As happy as we are for Manny finding his next school, we are equally excited that we still get to coach him for the rest of this season," Majkrzak said. "He's a great leader for our group and a key piece to our early season success. Personally, Manny will always be a special player as he was the first kid to sign to me as a head coach and the first kid to sign to the Bobcats for the 2018-19 season."
Jingco marks as the third leading scorer for the Bobcats this season and is excited to carry over his play in a Golden Bears uniform next year.
"I always have been interested in Concorida St. Paul and it helps that it is closer to home," Jingco said. "Their coaching staff and style-of-play grabbed my attention right away."
With 27 games still remaining in the Bobcats season, Jingco is prepared to stay focused on the task at-hand as the Bobcats are off to a resounding start to the season which includes a 25-point victory this past weekend against Wilbur Wright College.
"My mindset will continue to stay the same for this current season," Jingco said. "I am committed to Bryant & Stratton for the rest of this season and I still want our team to improve and get to the national tournament."
The Bobcats stand at 2-1 overall with their next game taking place at home on Saturday vs Malcom X College.
Tip-off begins at 3:00pm.
