WAUWATOSA, WI (November 19, 2018) - After a week off of competition, the Bryant & Stratton College men's team hosted the Malcom X College Hawks on Saturday where they claimed their second straight victory 88-71. The win improved the Bobcats to 3-1 overall on the season.
Getting off to a sluggish start, the Bobcats trailed 14-7 nine minutes into the game but quickly recovered going on an 8-0 run to capture the lead at 15-14.
After trading baskets over the remaining 10 minutes of the half, Bobcats guard, Manny Jingco, knocked down a three-point shot with seconds remaining to give Bryant & Stratton a 38-33 lead at the break.
To start the second half it was the Bobcats who came out on fire, knocking down shots and extending their lead to 14 (55-41) after a made shot by freshman forward, Jose Sosa.
With just over 9 minutes remaining, the Hawks were able to cut the deficit down to eight but that was not enough as Bobcats forward, Chris Thompson, stole the ball a possession later which led to a transition lay-up from guard, Joe Duty to put the score back into double-digits.
Leading by ten with just under eight minutes left in the contest, the Bobcats went on an 11-2 run to run away with the win.
Coming off another team-high scoring game for the Bobcats was sophomore guard, Kyle McDermed, dropping 15 points on 6-13 shooting from the field followed by Jingco with 14 points.
Off the bench, freshman guard, Mikell Cooper, produced 14 points and floor general Justin Brookens contributed 12 points and three steals.
The Bobcats shot 41.7% overall as a team and 35.3% from long distance.

Bryant & Stratton will have another week off before their next game as they travel to Coon Rapids, MN on Saturday to square off against Anoka-Ramsey Community College.
Tip-off will take place at 1:00pm.
