WAUWATOSA, WI (January 26, 2019) - Saturday marked as the Bryant & Stratton College men's basketball team's fourth consecutive victory as they outscored the Bay College Norse 97-80 in regulation.
Bryant & Stratton held a 93-74 lead with two minutes left in the game after floor general Justin Brookens put the nail in the coffin sinking two free throws at the line.
The win improved the Bobcats to 17-7 overall and 14-2 in region play.
Sophomore guard Joe Duty led the way with a game-high 28 points and 11 rebounds. Duty shot 9-14 from the field including 4-5 from beyond the arc.
Freshman guard Manny Jingco dropped 22 points on 8-18 from the field while Brookens produced 19 points and 12 dimes.
Off of the bench, sophomore guard Kyle McDermed added 10 points, three assists and three steals.
At the midway point of the first half the score was tied at 19 points a-peice before Bobcats freshman forward Chris Thompson put in a tough contested layup giving Bryant & Stratton a 21-19 edge.
Over the next seven minutes, the Bobcats surged out to a 21-13 run and took a commanding 42-32 lead.
Despite the the Bobcats remarkable play, the Norse retaliated quickly as they brought the score back within three (45-42) at the break.
Bryant & Stratton shot just under 50% from the field in the first half to the Norse 43.2%.
To start the second half, the Bobcats broke out to a 8-0 run and led 53-42 after Brookens knocked down a shot from distance.
With just under 10 minutes left to play, Bryant & Stratton led the Norse 77-64 after made three from Jingco.
Building upon their double figure lead, the Bobcats saw their 17th win come early as they held a 21 point advantage with four minutes remaining and never looked back.
The Bobcats shot a grand total of 47.1% from the field to the Norse 46.2%.
Bryant & Stratton forced Bay College into 16 turnovers while only producing eight themselves.
The Bobcats will rematch Bay College in early February on the road.

Bryant & Stratton will have a week off of action as they travel to Rosemount, MN on Saturday to take on Dakota County Technical College.
