MILWAUKEE. Wis. (June 22, 2017) – Bryant & Stratton College's recent softball signee, Tori Golden, continues to receive major recognition as it has officially been announced that she earned 2017 WFSCA All-State First Team, 2017 WFSCA All-District First Team and Southeast Conference Player of the Year.
Golden comes from Oak Creek High School located in Oak Creek, Wisconsin and signed with the Bobcats last week to continue her education and softball career at Bryant & Stratton College.
A phenomenal athlete, Golden competed at third base for Oak Creek and helped lead her team to the Division I State Semi-Final Game. Golden and the Knights suffered only two losses the entire year which made it a season Golden will never forget.
"I could not be happier for Tori to receive these awards," Bobcats Head softball coach Troy Engibous said. "She is in such a small group of people that have received these types of awards and that shows the type of player she is."
Along with earning these three prestigious awards, Golden earned First Team All-Conference and broke the Oak Creek High School all-time record in homeruns, at bats, doubles and hits.
"What impresses me most is the level of competition she plays against every night," Engibous said. "The southeast conference is one of the best in the area and for her to put up the numbers she did is very impressive."
As the leadoff hitter, Golden batted .491 with five homeruns and 41 RBI's this past season. She stole seven bases in eight tries and totaled an on-base-percentage (OBP) at .517.
With Golden improving every season since freshman year and finishing senior season on such a high-note, Engibous is very excited to have her on board.
"I can't wait to see her compete at the collegiate level and I am so excited she picked Bryant & Stratton College to continue her softball career," Engibous said.
These achievements definitely sit at the top of the list for Golden but she will be determined to have the same impact as a collegiate athlete come first day of classes.
Bryant & Stratton College would like to congratulate Golden on all of her accomplishments this past season and cannot wait to see her compete in a Bobcat uniform next year.
