WAUWATOSA, WI (April 27, 2019) - The Bryant & Stratton College softball team (12-25) came back home on Friday afternoon where they dropped the double header vs Sauk Valley Community College 13-11 in game one and 9-3 in game two.
The Bobcats now fall to 3-12 in region play with eight region games remaining in the regular season.
GAME ONE VS SAUK VALLEY COMMUNITY COLLEGE (13-11 LOSS)
An intense offensive battle led to an 8-6 lead for Bryant & Stratton after four-innings of play.
THe Bobcats tacked on an additional three-runs in the bottom of the fifth after Brooke Masi (So.) doubled on a hit to left field to bring in two-runs.
Brianna Zook (Fr.) drove home the third run of the game on a line-drive double to left field.
Leading 11-6 with two-innings remaining, Bryant & Stratton failed to hold down Sauk Valley defensively as they scored two runs in the sixth and five in the seventh to secure the victory.
The Bobcats produced 12 total hits in the game. Zook led the way with three hits and three RBI's followed by Masi with two hits and two RBI's.
Ashley Weimann (Fr.) finished with two hits and one RBI.
Mercedes Griesbach threw 5.1 innings allowing six earned runs.
GAME TWO VS SAUK VALLEY COMMUNITY COLLEGE (9-3 LOSS)
After giving up one-run in the top of the first, Bryant & Stratton's Ashley Weimann (Fr.) tied the game up on a solo-shot to left field.
With the score tied at 1-1, Sauk Valley tacked on two more runs in the top of the second taking a 3-1 lead.
The Bobcats produced one run of their own in the bottom of the second on a solo homerun from Heather Anderson (Fr.) cutting the deficit to 3-2.
Unable to keep Sauk Valley from crossing the plate, the Bobcats allowed two more runs in the top of the third which brought the score to 5-2.
A scoreless fourth-inning led to Sauk Valley adding on four more runs in the final three-innings which was enough to take the series sweep over the Bobcats.
Anderson led the way for the Bobcats with three hits and one RBI followed by Weimann with two hits and one RBI.
Kelly Schiller (Fr.) threw seven-innings allowing seven earned runs.

Bryant & Stratton will travel to Mequon, WI take on Concordia University (JV) on Tuesday afternoon for a double header.
First pitch of game one will be tossed at 3:00pm.
