MILWAUKEE, Wis. (May 30, 2017) – The Bryant & Stratton College women's basketball team has officially signed Milwaukee star Arianna Watkins.
Watkins attended North Division High School where she led her team to three consecutive division titles and a conference championship.
Standing at 6'3", Watkins averaged 11 points per game and was well-known in the conference for her rebounding ability and remarkable footwork.
"This is a great day for Arianaa," Lady Bobcats Head coach Jeff Lorenz said. "She is a fantastic post player and will fit in our system perfectly."
Watkins will stand out as one of the tallest players on the roster next season and will be responsible for starting the break in the Bobcats transition offense.
"Arianna will be vital on the glass as she grabs rebounds and outlets it to are guards to start the break," Lorenz said. "She has the ability to sprint the floor as well which will make it very tough for opponents to slow us down in transition."
Watkins is definitely excited for the opportunity to compete with a Bryant & Stratton College jersey on as she knew it was a perfect fit right when she stepped foot on campus.
"I decided to join Bryant & Stratton College because they gave me the best opportunity," Watkins said. "I will bring height and leadership to the team."
Watkins marks as the second athlete Lorenz has signed from North Division High School this summer and he is excited that the two have the opportunity to continue competing together.
The Lady Bobcats roster is just about set to begin preparing for a national championship. Lorenz and his coaching staff will continue on the search for a few more pieces to the puzzle and then focus on bringing the team together.
