MILWAUKEE, WI (November 8, 2017) – The Bryant & Stratton College Bobcats traveled to Fond Du Lac, WI yesterday to square off against the Marian University Sabres. The Bobcats bounced back from a tough two-game losing streak and defeated the Sabres 84-55.
Despite Marian University being an NCAA Division III program the Bobcats were able to go on the road and capture a victory.
A hot start for the Bobcats lead to a 23-11 score at the end of the first quarter. The Sabres fought their way back throughout the second quarter and trailed the Bobcats 35-30 at the end of the half.
"We knew they would make a run come the start of the second quarter," Lorenz said. "We needed to weather the storm and we did a pretty good job at doing that."
To start the third, the Bobcats took an early lead and after a back and forth battle the score was 54-46 at the start of the fourth.
"We extended the lead to start the fourth which is what we wanted to do," Lorenz said.
The Bobcats added a great deal of defensive pressure and jumped out to a twenty-point lead midway through the fourth. With two minutes remaining in the game, the Bobcats led 78-54 and went on their way to capturing their second win of the season.
Kyle Pitts (Milwaukee, WI) and Ashley Williams (Aurora, IL) led all scorers with 14 points. Ayisha-Bentley Junior (Milwaukee, WI) tacked on 12 points and Gabrielle Norwood (Milwaukee, WI) added 11 points.
After starting the season out 1-2, the Bobcats are happy to be back on track and at a .500 record.
The next game takes place at Western Technical College located in Lacrosse, WI on Saturday. The game takes place at 1:00pm and spectators can view the game live Here.
