MILWAUKEE, WI (November 22, 2017) – The Bryant & Stratton College women's basketball team hosted the home opener last night and defeated the College of Lake County Lancers 97-47. The Bobcats currently stand at 6-3 overall and 3-0 in region play.
Immediately at tip-off, the Bobcats came out hot as they led 23-16 at the end of the first quarter.
"When we take early leads at the start of the game we have been able to maintain that lead and even expand on it," Bobcats head coach Jeff Lorenz said. "This has been a pattern for us so far this year and when we get off to a slow start we end up struggling throughout the game."
Come second quarter, the Bobcats went on a remarkable run and led 56-27 at the half.
"We were able to get out and run which is when we are at our best," Lorenz said.
The Bobcats continued to extend the lead throughout the third and fourth quarter and went on their way to capture their sixth win of the season.
Kiara Donaldson (Milwaukee, WI) led the Bobcats with 17 points while shooting 6-10 from the field and 3-4 from beyond the arc.
Kyla Pitts (Milwaukee, WI) followed with 16 points and five steals while Jazlyn Drake (Milwaukee, WI) added 10 points and seven steals.
Ashley Quezaire (Milwaukee, WI) tacked on 12 points off the bench and shot 4-4 from the free throw line.
Lorenz and his coaching staff will look ahead to their next region match-up which takes place Saturday, November 25 at 1:00pm.
The Bobcats will square off against Carl Sandburg College (1-3) as they look to extend their record to 7-3.
