MILWAUKEE, WIS. (January 15, 2017) – The Bryant & Stratton College Lady Bobcats triumphed over Kishwaukee College on Saturday in an 83-39 victory. The win extended the Lady Bobcats record to 15-6 and 10-0 in region play.
Although the Lady Bobcats have had a few injuries recently, that was not going to stop them from getting back on track. With major shooting struggles in their previous contest on January 9, the Lady Bobcats made it a different story on Saturday shooting 42% from the field and 40% from beyond the arc.
The Lady Bobcats got out to a 23-11 lead at the end of the first and they never turned back. Leading 45-15 at the break had Lady Bobcats head coach Jeff Lorenz very pleased with the direction the game was going.
"I thought the way we bounced back after a very winnable game on January 9 showed a lot about the character of this team," Lorenz said. "We played team basketball and everyone executed in their role."
Throughout the third quarter, the Lady Bobcats continued to pile on the points and knock down shots. At the start of the fourth quarter the lead was extended to 36 points and the Lady Bobcats were well on their way to another victory.
"It is always important when you have big lead to not let it slip away," Lorenz said. "I thought we did a great job of continuing to get stops defensively and push the ball in transition."
Getting out in transition is certainly what the Lady Bobcats did as they captured 29 fast break points and created 39 points off of turnovers.
Returning Second Team All-American, Kiara Donaldson (Milwaukee, WI) led the way for the Lady Bobcats dropping 26 points while shooting 10-15 from the field and 5-6 from beyond the arc.
Kyla Pitts (Milwaukee, WI) tacked on 16 points off the bench and Ashley Williams (Aurora, IL) added 8 points and 14 rebounds putting her just shy of a double-double.
Up next for the Lady Bobcats is a road game at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater Warhawks on Tuesday, January 16. The Warhawks will look to get revenge this time around as the Lady Bobcats defeated them 77-74 in last season's contest.
Tip-off will take place at 6:00pm central time and spectators can watch the game live HERE
