WAUWATOSA, WI (October 25, 2018) - It was a nerverecking match for the Bryant & Stratton College women's volleyball team Wednesday evening as they pulled through down the stretch against Morton College in five sets 24-26, 25-18, 23-25, 25-12 and 15-8. The win improves the Bobcats to 15-10 overall and 14-6 in region competition.
A back and forth battle, the Bobcats saw the first set slip away from them as they held a 23-22 lead but failed to stop the rally by the panthers.
A frustrating loss in set one, the Bobcats came out sluggish in the second set getting down 8-3 with momentum on Morton's side.
Pushing through adversity, the Bobcats rallied to make it a 19-17 score and eventually ran away with the win.
"They kept fighting, attacked agressively and their communication picked up," Bobcats head coach Heather Curley said.
A 1-1 tie, the Bobcats fell short in set three after multiple key communication errors which allowed Morton to take the set.
Down 2-1, the final two sets were dominated by the Bobcats as they came out capaltizing on every aspect of the game allowing them to take the match.
"Everyone was on tonight in the final two sets," Curley said.
Leading the way for the Bobcats was freshman, Andrea Miranda, producing 21 kills followed by Gabriela Lopez with 16.
Middle blocker, Ashley Weimann tacked on 10 kills and setter Evelis Vicenty contributed 49 of the team's total 50 assists.
The Bobcats totaled a .302K% along with 47 digs.

Bryant & Stratton will begin their playoff run on November 3. College of Lake County will be hosting the tournament and seeding and brackets for the playoffs will take place this weekend.
