Milwaukee, Wis. (January 30, 2017) - Melissa Biefeld, from Wauwatosa West High School, has officially committed to play softball at Bryant & Stratton College. Biefeld is the first softball student-athlete to sign with Bryant & Stratton College, which begins their inaugural season in the spring 2018.
At Wauwatosa West, Biefeld has started on varsity since her freshman year. In the off-season, she plays on the Waukesha Blazers travel team.
Biefeld brings an incredible amount of versatility to the softball program at Bryant & Stratton College and will continue her career behind-the-plate at catcher for the Bobcats.
"I am very excited to have Melissa as my first committed member of the Bryant & Stratton softball team," said head softball coach Troy Engibous. "She fills a very important role for us right off the bat being a very good defensive catcher, which is very important."
Engibous has begun recruiting high school senior student-athletes for the fall 2017 semester as the team will begin scrimmages against other collegiate teams this fall to prepare for the spring 2018 inaugural season.
"My main focus since day one on campus has been getting quality young adults and softball players. Melissa definitely fits both of those categories."
Biefeld will be wearing the jersey number 2 for the Bobcats this season and will be studying Criminal Justice.
