MILWAUKEE, Wis. (March 9, 2017) – Bryant & Stratton College congratulates Amanda Zane on signing her letter of intent to officially join the Bobcats family.
Zane comes from Franklin, Wisconsin where she competed on the Greendale Panthers travel team early in her softball career before switching to the Queen of Diamonds at the backend of her high school career.
A dynamic athlete, Zane will be spending most of her time on the mound next season for the Bobcats but will also see some time in the outfield.
"Amanda brings in a great deal of versatility" Head coach Troy Engibous said. "Her ability to pitch and play multiple positions will cause many problems for opponents."
Engibous has been out on the recruiting trail heavily over the last couple months and the biggest characteristic he has been looking for in athletes is their passion for the game.
"I am very excited for Amanda to have this opportunity to play collegiate softball" Engibous said. "She made her passion for softball very clear to me and that is exactly what I have been looking for."
Next year will be the inaugural season for the Bobcat softball program which was the main factor in Zane's decision to choose Bryant & Stratton College.
"I am really excited to be a part of the first ever softball team at Bryant & Stratton College." Zane said.
Zane will be enrolling in the criminal justice program and spectators can see her wearing jersey number five on the diamond.
Coach Engibous will continue recruiting high school senior student-athletes for the fall 2017 semester as the team will begin scrimmages against other collegiate teams this fall to prepare for the 2018 inaugural season.
