Milwaukee, Wis. (April 18, 2017) – Bryant & Stratton College is excited to announce the signing of Heather Anderson from Glendale Heights, IL. Anderson will be competing on the Bobcats softball team next spring for the 2018 inaugural season.
A two-year varsity player from Glenbard North High School, Anderson brings a tremendous amount of dedication to the game which makes Bobcats Head coach Troy Engibous thrilled to have her on board.
"Heather makes it very obvious she has a passion for softball and those are the players I want on my team," Engibous said.
Along with competing on the varsity team, Anderson plays on a competitive travel team known as the Illinois Patriot Elite-White 18u. She competes on the travel team during the offseason.
A natural athlete, Anderson will be catching and at shortstop for the Bobcats this upcoming season and Engibous is anxious to watch her grow as a college student-athlete.
"I am very excited for Heather not only for the opportunity to play college softball but in the classroom as well," Engibous said.
Anderson certainly takes the academic side of being a collegiate athlete very seriously as she will be enrolling into the Nursing program at Bryant & Stratton College.
"I am really looking forward to pursuing my education in nursing and playing softball," Anderson said. "I can't wait to see what the future holds."
Spectators can catch Anderson wearing jersey No. 8 on the diamond next season.
Engibous will continue recruiting high school senior student-athletes for the fall 2017 semester as the team will begin scrimmages against other collegiate teams this fall to prepare for the official spring 2018 inaugural season.
