Bobcats add Illinois Talent to the Throws Program!
Bryant & Stratton Bobcats Women's Track & Field is excited to announce the addition of Amaryha McGowan (Rockford, IL) to the team! Amaryha brings incredible work ethic, talent, and potential to the young team and will serve as an essential piece of the team score in her first year. A varsity team member and IHSA Sectional competitor at Rockford Luther High School, McGowan competes primarily in the Shot Put and Discus.
Said Director of Cross Country/Track & Field Casey Green, "Amarhya is a great addition to the team. She is exceptionally willing to work hard and has all types of potential to get better with time and college-level coaching. She'll serve as a great member of our incoming class and an exceptional training partner for our other incoming thrower, Ashanti Weeks (Milwaukee, WI). We can't wait to get Amaryha on campus and kick off team training."
The Bryant & Stratton Bobcats Track & Field program will be competing in their inaugural NJCAA D1 season in 2020/2021. They have already built an impressive roster of incoming freshman across event groups in addition to their returning athletes. The commitment of McGowan continues the creation of a strong incoming class that will look to qualify multiple individuals for the NJCAA Indoor and Outdoor Track & Field National Championships in 2021.
Commenting on her decision to commit to the Bobcats, McGowan said, "I chose Bryant and Stratton College because I know they are going to give me the tools and resources to succeed. Also, it's going to be a great opportunity to build a new team for BSC!"
Practice officially begins for Bobcats Track & Field in October 2020 with competition to commence in January 2021.
It is bound to be an exciting, competitive year for Bobcats Track & Field!
