Bobcat’s Continue to Build on Talented, Experienced Roster
Bryant & Stratton Women's Cross Country and Track & Field continue to build a talented, competitive roster with the addition of Brenda Chumba (Iten, Kenya). Chumba will add increased depth and experience to an already talented team. Primarily working in the mid and long distance events, Chumba's talent on the track as well as on the cross country course will be a great benefit to the Bobcats in 2020/2021.
Said Director of Cross Country/Track & Field Casey Green, "Brenda is a recruit that we've been working with for quite a while to get on the Bobcats roster. She's had strong results at 3,000 meters and 1,500 meters and will look to translate that into success at 5k and 6k for the collegiate cross country season. Her diligence in working through the training and preparation process for a collegiate career in the United States has been really impressive. As a team that values work ethic and dedication as much as we do, Brenda is a perfect fit. We can't wait to get her into a Bobcats singlet and have her race for us!"
The addition of Brenda Chumba to the Bobcats team continues to build upon the success of the inaugural 2019 cross country season where the team's top runner, Holly Tsosie, was runner-up at the Regional Championship and 53rd at the NJCAA National Championships.
Commenting on her commitment to BSC, Chumba stated, "I chose Bryant and Stratton College because it is well known for providing students with career ready education and they are committed to support their student's quest in earning a college degree. I am excited in being part of the Bryant and Stratton family, the athletic team, and the community at large."
The Bobcats Cross Country team will begin their 2020 season in August with competition set to begin the first week of September. The inaugural season of the Bobcats Track & Field team will begin in October 2020 with competition set to begin in January 2021.
