Bio

Andy Runkel enters his third season as the men’s head golf coach for Bryant & Stratton College - Wisconsin.

Since taking the role as the head coach, Runkel has coached two players that qualified to the NJCAA National Tournament as well as an All-Region player.

Along with coaching at Bryant & Stratton, Runkel serves as the co-head PGA Professional at The Bog in Saukville, which has been named one of the best courses in southeastern Wisconsin and also where the Bobcats will practice and host their annual Invitational.

For 20 years, Runkel has been an assistant or head professional at The Bog Golf Club. He also has worked at Old Memorial in Tampa and Whistling Straits as a professional caddie.  In 2004, Runkel was elected to PGA membership and two years later became the first PGA Professional in Wisconsin to be specialty certified in instruction. Runkel has also been head coach of the Ozaukee High School boys golf team since 2009.

As a prominent club professional in the greater Milwaukee area, Runkel enjoys teaching the game, competing in WPGA tournaments and pro-amateur events around the country with members from The Bog. His teaching philosophy centers around building a relationship between the player and the club at impact as well as maintaining a consistent and reliable short game.

Runkel resides in Cedarburg with his wife Sue and son RJ. He also has two adult daughters, Kristin and Jessica and a grandson Kalon.  His favorite courses to play include the Copperhead Course at Innisbrook Resort in Palm Harbor, Fla, both courses at Whistling Straits and Erin Hills.  His relationships with many Bog members and customers have enabled him to play golf at some of the best private country clubs in America.
