WAUWATOSA, WI (March 10, 2018) – The Bryant & Stratton College softball team will go on the road tomorrow (Wednesday, April 11) to Illinois Valley Community College for a double header matchup with the first game beginning at 3:00pm.
Due to the weather, the Bobcats have been unable to compete since their double header on March 28 where they fell short to Madison College 6-1 and 10-7.
Although it's been roughly two weeks since the Bobcats have seen live pitching, Head Coach Troy Engibous is confident with the direction the team is moving.
"I am looking forward to getting back out there and playing tomorrow," Engibous said. "It's been just about two weeks since we have been able to play and it is unfortunate this spring has been so poor but we obviously are not the only ones effected by the weather."
The Bobcats (1-11-1) have made significant strides since the opening game of the season and will look to put together consecutive wins over the next few weeks.
"Back when the season started all I asked this team to do was to get better every time we compete and they have done that without a doubt," Engibous said.
The Bobcats have scored 61 runs in 13 games and have an on base percentage of .360.
Individually the Bobcats have had some outstanding performances thus far and Coach Engibous will expect them improve even more.
"Over these next two plus weeks I am excited for the girls to finish this first season strong," Engibous said. "We have been able to get a lot of swings in but were ready to get back out there and play."
Center Fielder, Kayla Jaskulski, has been on a roll this season with a .488 batting average and a .512 on base percentage.
Shortstop, Heather Anderson, has knocked in 10 RBI's and 11 hits followed by Tori Golden (3B) with nine RBI's and 15 hits.
The numbers for Bobcats pitcher, Alex Villalobos, tell just half the story as she has pitched every inning this season and has recorded 62 strikeouts.
Tomorrow will be an important battle for both teams as it is a Region IV Division II District B double header which directly impacts playoff seeding.
First pitch will take place at 3pm and spectators can view live stats at the links below.
