BSC Softball Moves to 3-9 Overall

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (March 4, 2019) - In day three of the spring break trip for the Bryant & Stratton College softball team, the Bobcats went 1-2 after a 10-0 loss to Danville Area Community College, 7-4 loss to Hagerstown Community College and a 13-0 win over Anna Maria College on Sunday. 

Bryant & Stratton now stands at 3-9 overall on the season and 3-5 on the spring break trip thus far.

3/3 - Game 1 vs Danville Area Community College (10-0 Loss)

That bats were quiet for the Bobcats in the opening game on Sunday as they failed to score a run throughout the game while Danville had things rolling offensively scoring 10 runs in five innings.

Freshman Ashley Wiemann and Kelly Schiller led the way for the Bobcats each with one hit.

Pitcher Mercedes Griesbach threw four innings giving up seven earned runs.

Relief pitcher Amanda Zane thre one inning striking out one and giving up two earned runs.

3/3 - Game 2 vs Hagerstown Community College (7-4 Loss)

The Bobcats got on the board early in game two as sophomore Brooke Masi scored on a double from freshman Brianna Zook giving the Bobcats 1-0 edge heading into the bottom of the first.

The Bobcats held Hagerstown scoreless through the first and second innings but let up four runs in the bottom of the third.

After tacking on three more runs through the fourth and fifth, Hagerstown led Bryant & Stratton 6-1 heading into the top of the sixth.

In the sixth, the Bobcats looked to make a comeback as they scored three runs.

Freshman Rachel Myland drove in Zook to close the gap to 6-2 which was followed by a double to center from sophomore Heather Anderson to bring in two more runs.

In the bottom of the sixth, Hagerstown scored one more run and held the Bobcat scoreless in the seventh inning to win the game.

Masi concluded the game with three hits and one run while Zook finished with two hits, one RBI and one run.

Pitcher Alyssa Hild threw six innings with two strikeouts and two walks.

3/3 - Game 3 vs Anna Maria College (13-0 Win)

The final game of day three resulted in a Bobcats victory as they came out scoring 13 runs combined in four innings.

Defensively, Bryant & Stratton held Anna Maria College scoreless through four innings which gave the Bobcats an early victory.

Zook led the way for Bryant & Stratton with two hits and three RBI's followed by Myland with two hits and two runs.

Pitcher Kelly Schiller threw six innings striking out five batters and giving up two hits.

UP NEXT:

Bryant & Stratton will have double header on Monday.

First game will take place at 10:00am against Lackawanna College followed by game two against Henry Ford College.
