MILWAUKEE, WIS. (December 1, 2017) – The Bryant & Stratton College women's basketball team hosted a region iv match-up yesterday where they defeated the Madison College Wolfpack 82-65. The Bobcats currently stand at 8-3 overall and 5-0 in the region.
Madison College (3-6) dropped to 1-3 in the region.
To start the game, the Bobcats were clicking on all cylinders knocking down jump shots, creating turnovers and getting out in transition. Shooting 50% from beyond on the arc in the first quarter gave the Bobcats a significant cushion throughout the rest of the half.
"We executed very well," Bobcats head coach Jeff Lorenz said. "Our shots were falling and we disrupted them defensively which allowed us to get out and run."
The second half began with the Bobcats leading 41-28 and despite multiple runs by the Wolfpack, the Bobcats were able to extend the lead 61-43 at the start of fourth quarter.
"Against a talented team like Madison College everyone needs to be on the same page throughout the game in order to be successful," Lorenz said. "I am very proud of how we performed as a unit tonight."
With eight minutes remaining in the contest, the Bobcats led by 18 and went on the way to capture their third win in-a-row.
Kyla Pitts (Milwaukee, WI) led the way with 16 points and four assists followed by Kiara Donaldson (Milwaukee, WI) contributing a double-double with 15 points and 11 boards.
Jazlyn Drake (Milwaukee, WI) added 14 points and three blocks.
Ashley Williams (Aurora, IL) and Valerie Nzeakor (Collin, TX) tacked on 10 points each off the bench.
The Bobcats have won seven of their last eight contests and will look to continue their win-streak at home on Saturday, December 9 against Gogebic Community College. The Bobcats defeated Gogebic 95-77 in last season's contest and will hope to have a similar result this time around.
Tip-off will take place at 12:00pm and spectators can view the game live HERE
