MILWAUKEE, WI (January 29, 2018) – The Bryant & Stratton College Lady Bobcats went on the road this past Saturday and defeated the Loras College Duhawks 91-73 which now improves them to 17-7 overall and 11-0 in region play.
Coming out of the gates hot, the Lady Bobcats were clicking on all cylinders as they took an early 32-12 lead at the end of the first. At the start of the second, both teams caught fire but the Bobcats remained ahead 55-34 at the break.
"I thought our ball movement was phenomenal," Bobcats head coach Jeff Lorenz said. "We also cut down on our turnovers which allowed us to get an early lead."
The third quarter remained a tight battle as the Lady Bobcats were only able to extend the lead to 23 after a 21-point lead at the break.
With five minutes remaining in the contest, the Bobcats kept their lead and there was no turning back.
"It was good to have a big lead and keep the opposition from going on a run and shortening the gap," Lorenz said. "A lot of times teams can get complacent and see their lead slip away but we held strong and continued to execute."
The Bobcats have now won two in-a-row which includes one region win.
Kiara Donaldson (Milwaukee, WI) led the Bobcats with 18 points followed by Ashley Williams (Aurora, IL) with 16 points and seven rebounds.
Gabrielle Norwood (Milwaukee, WI) contributed 14 points, Kyla Pitts added 13 points and Maddy McCoy tacked on 11 points.
Up next for the Lady Bobcats is a Region IV match-up against Highland Community College on Thursday. The Bobcats defeated Highland 62-53 in last season's contest. Highland Community College is a NJCAA Region IV Division I program as the Lady Bobcats are a Division II program. Highland currently stands at 8-2 in the region and 10-5 overall.
This will surely be a test for both teams as the regional tournament is right around the corner.
Tip-off will take place at 5:00pm. Spectators can view the game live on the official Bobcats YouTube Channel
