WAUWATOSA, WI (November 19, 2018) - Coming off of two straight double-digit victories, the Bryant & Stratton College women's basketball team continued on with their streak after earning two consecutive wins at the John Wood Classic Tournament this past weekend.
The Bobcats defeated Sauk Valley Community College 78-62 on Friday and Ellsworth Community College 104-71 on Saturday.
The wins put the Bobcats at 4-1 overall which includes a four-game winning streak.
GAME 1 (Win vs. Sauk Valley 78-62)
The Bobcats outscored Sauk Valley 34-25 in the first half and continued their solid play in the second half outscoring the Skyhawks 44-27.
"We played very well once the girls got acclimated into the game," Bobcats head coach Jeff Lorenz said. "I thought we shared the ball very well which helped us extend our lead."
Bryant & Stratton has outscored their opponents in the first half in each of their past three games by double-digits.
Sophomore guard, Valerie Nzeakor, led the way for the Bobcats with 13 points and six rebounds followed by freshman, Kiyanna Rodgers with 12 points, five rebounds and three steals.
Freshman, Ashley Moses, dropped 10 points and sophmore, Ja'Taviah Conley, contributed 10 points.
"It was certainly a true team win tonight," Lorenz said.
Bryant & Stratton shot over 50% from the field and 36% from beyond the arc.
GAME 2 (Win vs Ellsworth 104-71)
Game two of the tournament marked as the first time this season the Bobcats hit triple digits in their total scored points as four of the Bobcats players scored in double-digts.
"We carried a lot of the positives over to this game from the previous game against Sauk Valley," Lorenz said. "We were able to get out in transition which is when we are at our best."
The Bobcats led by 10 at the end of the first half and extended that lead to 21 at the end of the third and never looked back.
Freshman guards, Rodgers and Moses, led the way for the Bobcats dropping 21 points a-piece followed by sophomore, Nzeakor, with 14 points.
The Bobcats shot a resounding 62% from the field and 73% from the charity stripe.

The Bobcats will have the week to prepare for the Northern Iowa Community College (NIACC) Thanksgiving Classic located in Mason City, IA as they will rematch Ellsworth Community College on Saturday at 6:00pm.
