WAUWATOSA, WI (December 20, 2018) - With one game remaining before a week long holiday break, the Bryant & Stratton College women's basketball team went on the road Thursay evening and outpaced the Oakton Community College Owls 101-64, earning their second straight region iv victory.
The win puts the Bobcats at 10-5 overall and 5-2 in region play.
Getting out to a 49-27 lead at the break, the Bobcats saw a potential victory early on in the contest.
"We executed right from the jump," Bobcats head coach Jeff Lorenz said. "Our defense, transition game, shooting and teamwork was all solid throughout the entire half."
Throughout the third quarter, the Bobcats continued their stellar play as they extended their lead to 24 points to start the fourth.
In the first four minutes of the fourth quarter, the Bobcats scored 13 points giving them an 85-58 advantage with six minutes to go.
Leading by 27 with just over five minutes remaining, the Bobcats went on a 16-6 run to close out the game and ran away with their 10th win of the season.
"Region games are vital," Lorenz said. "These are the teams we will going up against in the playoffs so it is important to play as a team and execute."
A resounding victory for Bryant & Stratton as they had five players dropping double-digit points and combining for 73 of the total 101 points.
Coming off of a preseason injury, freshman guard, Kiara Hortman, tallied 18 points on 6-13 shooting followed by sophomore forward, Brandilyn Robertson, with 18 points and seven boards off of the bench.
Freshman, Kiyanna Rodgers, knocked in 14 points which is four more points than her season average. Guard, Essence Rayford produced 13 points off the bench and freshman, Ashley Moses, finished the game with 10 points.
"I felt like this was a total team win tonight," Bobcats head coach Jeff Lorenz said. "Everyone was involved and we did all of the the little things right."
The Bobcats shot 47.4% from the field and 36.4% from beyond the arc which marks as their third best shooting percentage from long distance on the season.

Bryant & Stratton will hit the road for the Illinois Central Holiday Tournament taking place Friday, December 28-30.The Bobcats will go up against North Iowa Area Community College in their opening game of the tournament on Friday with tip-off taking place at 4:00pm.
Bryant & Stratton squared off against NIACC already this season and suffered a 117-95 loss November 25 but will be looking for revenge this time around.
The three day holiday tournament is hosted by Illinois Central Community College located Peoria, IL.
