WAUWATOSA, WI (October 10, 2018) - Behind an all-around team effort, the Bryant & Stratton College women's soccer team buried the Prairie State Pioneers in a regional matchup Wednesday evening 6-1 in regulation. The Bobcats improved to 5-4-1 overall on the season and 4-4-1 in region play.
The games first score came when freshman Elaine Pree connected with Lynette Ocampo who netted the back of the net at the 25:00 minute mark. Striking back, the Pioneers found the back of the net just before the end of the half leaving the score tied 1-1 at the break.
Nearly 10 minutes into the second half, Ocampo returned the favor to Britnee Kobza who scored the Bobcats second goal of the game at the 56:00 minute mark.
"The key to tonight was staying consistent with our ball movement," Bobcats head coach Lucas Henderson said.
Striking a 2-1 lead early in the second half gave the Bobcats momentum as they continued to find the back of the net.
Forward, Lexi Oleniczak netted the Bobcats third goal at the 59:00 minute mark (assisted by Ocampo). Four minutes later Ari Duncanson scored after a phenomonal assist from Oleniczak.
Leading 4-1, Ocampo completed her first career hat trick scoring back-to-back goals in the final 15 minutes with assists from Oleniczak and Duncanson to give the Bobcats their sixth and final goal of the game.
"In the second half we did a great job of taking advantage of the opportunites created by our ball movement," Henderson said.
The Bobcats racked up 10 shots, seven shots on goal and six assists.
In the net, Goalkeeper, Derica Ohms, produced three total saves.
