Recap: Bobcats Split at Chaparral Invitational

WAUWATOSA, WI (September 3, 2018) – The Bryant & Stratton College volleyball team went on the road to College of DuPage for the Chaparral Invitational where they competed in four matches within two days and split 2-2.

Day 1 - The Bobcats defeated Joliet Junior College 3-1 to open up the tournament with scores of 25-11, 20-25, 25-21, 26-24. Shortly after, the Bobcats squared off against Black Hawk College-Moline where they suffered a 3-0 loss. The first two sets ended with close scores of 22-25 and 21-25. Running out of gas, the Bobcats fell 15-25 in the third set.

Day 2 - The Bobcats first match of the day took place against Madison College where they lost 3-0. In the final match of the tournament, the Bobcats took the court against the host College of DuPage and won 3-1.

Andrea Miranda (Puerto Rico) led the way for the Bobcats with 60 total kills in the tournament followed by Gabriela Lopez (Puerto Rico) with 42 kills and Kyenna Stanley-Reckin(Egale, WI) with 36.

Hecsiris Hernandez (Puerto Rico) contributed 36 digs throughout the tournament followed by Hannah Roush (Dousman, WI) with 32. Setter, Evelis Vicenty, (Puerto Rico) racked up 132 assists.

Up Next:

The Bobcats will host Olive-Harvey College for their inaugural home match in program history. The Bobcats will look to carry over the positives from the Chaparral tournament and improve to 4-2.
