Milwaukee, Wis. (January 19, 2017) – Bryant & Stratton College has hired Troy Engibous as the first head coach of its Wisconsin softball program starting competition in spring 2018. Engibous will lead in the growth and development of the Bobcats program on and off the field.
Engibous has begun recruiting high school senior student athletes for the fall 2017 semester so the team can begin fall scrimmages to prepare for the spring 2018 inaugural season.
"We are excited to have Troy join the Bryant & Stratton College family," said Bryant & Stratton College's Athletic Director Greg Brandner. "Troy has an outstanding track record of coaching and developing student athletes. Troy's reputation and experience made him an easy choice to launch our softball program."
Bryant & Stratton College belongs to the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Region 4, competing at the Division II level, which gives the opportunity to offer athletic scholarships to student athletes. The team is currently independent of a conference.
Bryant & Stratton College offers men's and women's basketball, men's golf, and is adding softball, baseball and women's golf in fall 2017. The college plans on adding women's volleyball and men's and women's soccer in 2018.
Engibous came from Reinhardt University in Waleska, GA, where he was the assistant softball coach last season. He helped lead the team to a 41-12 record, advancing to the NAIA Tournament.
Engibous also coached four years at Cardinal Stritch University, serving as a student assistant, graduate assistant and assistant coach. Engibous helped Cardinal Stritch post a 102-67 record, helping the Wolves reach its first ever NAIA national tournament in 2015 going 44-12.
"I couldn't have asked for a better opportunity to be a head coach back home in Wisconsin," Engibous said. "I look forward to starting this program from the ground up and making a name for Bryant & Stratton College softball."
Engibous holds both a bachelor's and master's degree in Sports Management from Cardinal Stritch University, where he was also a four-year letter winner in baseball.
Engibous attended Waukesha West High School and currently resides in New Berlin, Wis.
