The Bryant & Stratton College Lady Bobcats recently participated in the Illinois Central Holiday Classic, hosted this past week in Peoria, Illinois. The Bobcats went 2-1 in a 4-team field that included 4 top-20 teams in the nation.
In game one, the #13 Bobcats took down undefeated North Iowa Area Community College 67-59. NIAC entered the tourney ranked #2 in the country at 12-0. The Lady Bobcats outscored the Trojans 19-5 in the fourth quarter. Marleah Drake paved the way for the Bobcats, scoring 18 points on 4-4 from behind the arc. Drake also tacked on five rebounds.
Game two saw an absolute thriller against the #10 ranked host school, Illinois Central, with the Bobcats losing 90-89. It was Central's term to go off in the fourth quarter outscoring BSC 26-8. La'Jaique Perry-Ellis filled up the stat sheet in the tight contest pouring in 23 points, 8 assists, 6 steals, and 5 rebounds for the Bobcats. Finally, the tournament concluded with a victory for the Bobcats, as they went on to handily defeat Region IV foe McHenry County College, 77-60. Perry-Ellis led the way notching a double-double with 19 points and 10 rebounds in the contest.
