Bobcats Track & Field Adds Speedy Florida Sprinter
The Bobcats Men's Track & Field team continues to add talented sprinters to their young team with the addition of Damian Stokes (Apopka, FL). Stokes joins the team at Bryant & Stratton College after an incredibly successful athletic career at Apopka High School. Focusing primarily in the 200m and 400m events, Stokes finished his high school career with personal bests at both distances.
"Damian will be an impact athlete right away for us." Said Director of Cross Country/Track & Field Casey Green. "He'll be key to forming a nationally competition 4x400m team as well as continuing to push our sprints team to achieve the recognition that it deserves. Not only does he bring talent to the Bobcats team, but he also is an incredibly gracious, mature, and hard-working young man that we believe has incredible leadership and results potential. We couldn't be happier to get Damian into a Bobcats uniform!"
With an incoming sprints team that already boats State Championship medalists and qualifiers from Wisconsin, Ohio, and New Mexico, the addition of Stokes adds to a deep and talented group. With personal bests at 50.07 and 23.27 in the 400m and 200m respectively, Stokes has already proven that he can compete and perform at an extremely high level.
Commenting on his choice of Bryant & Stratton College, Stokes said, "I needed to do something in my life that I would be proud of, and running track is something that I love. BSC has given me an opportunity to do something that I love and also pursue something that I desire to do. I personally cannot wait to see how these next few years turn out at BSC!"
The Bobcats Men's Track & Field team will begin their season on October 5th, 2020 with competitions set to start in January 2021!
