BSU Women's Tennis earned it's first dual match victories in program history
Women's Tennis had it's season opener on Friday night at Sauk Valley and took a very close 5-4 loss. Desiree Ahlberg and Valentina Kukuruzuvic continued their undefeated careers at BSC with wins at #1 and #2 singles as well as #1 doubles. BSC fourth win came from the newest addition from Bogota, Colombia, Nikold Torres. She started her 5-1 opening weekend with an easy win at #3 singles. Torres teamed with second year player Kyana Ramos for the deciding match and fell just short in the 3rd set tiebreaker.
Saturday BSC visited Waubonsee CC for a triangular with MATC and Waubonsee. The team earned it's first dual match victories in program history by defeating both squads 5-4 with Torres and Ramos earning the deciding victories in both matches. Defending Region champions Val and Desiree again went undefeated on the day in singles and doubles and have yet to lose a match or even a set in their careers. BSC also got a great boost from newest Bobcat Kennedy Campbell who joined the team on Thursday morning and showed significant improvement throughout her first organized tennis ever.
BSC will travel to MVCC on Monday to continue our season and look toward the Region tourney in 3 weeks.
