Bobcats fall to Scots
CRYSTAL LAKE, Ill. — The Bryant & Stratton College baseball team took on the McHenry Scots Monday afternoon. It was the first time the Bobcats had taken the field since March 30.
Jedvier Garcia started the scoring for the Bobcats with a homerun.
Carter Szohr took the mound for the Bobcats and was looking to replicate his success in his last outing against MATC. However, the first two batters reached following a hit batter and an error. The inning continued, and it included another error and hit batter, and the Scots brought four runs in altogether before the inning was over.
The Scots added six more runs in the second, and Bryant & Stratton trailed 10-1.
Szohr finished with only 1⅓ innings of work but recorded four strikeouts and four earned runs.
Isaac Engelbrecht took over for him, and he pitched two full innings and finished with two strikeouts.
McHenry added four more runs in the fourth inning, and the Bobcats answered with three runs of their own. Bryant & Stratton’s “brutal day” at the ballpark ended with a double-digit loss, and it saw its six-game winning streak end.
The Bobcats’ next matchup will be at home vs. Madison College at 3 p.m. in a nine-inning game.
