Bobcats fall to Wolfpack in slugfest
MADISON, Wis. — The Bryant & Stratton College baseball team took on the Madison College Wolfpack, this time at Robin Roberts Field. Jack Grable started the game for the Bobcats, but eight more pitchers appeared in the slugfest.
Like the previous matchup, Madison College started the scoring with a three-run first inning. The Bobcats answered with a two-run second inning, but the Bobcats pulled away again, bringing in four runs in the same inning.
Trailing 7-2, the Bobcats aimed to get back into the game, and back-to-back home runs allowed them to. Ashton Kampa hit a two-run home run to bring in Ryan Weed, who singled. Deacan Koback followed him with a solo home run, and the Bobcats trailed by two. They brought in two more runs to tie the game. Overall, it was a five-run inning for the Bobcats.
Madison took the lead back in the home half, but the Bobcats continued their offensive barrage and took the lead with a three-run fourth inning.
They held the lead for one inning until Madison’s bats picked up again. It scored nine runs in two innings to take a 17-10 lead, and the scoreboard wouldn’t change until the last out was recorded in the ninth.
