Milwaukee, Wis. (January 31, 2017) - Bobcats star, Lincoln Wieseman, has been recovering exceptionally well over the past couple months after suffering a broken wrist against St. John's Northwestern Military Academy on December 10th, 2016.
After the doctors examined Wieseman's injury it was determined that he had broken his radius and ulna. Wieseman underwent sugery two days later on December 12th, 2016 and was informed of a three to six month recovery period.
It has currently been seven weeks since Wieseman's surgery and two weeks ago he had begun the physical therapy process, which puts him way ahead of schedule of his initial recovery period.
The Bryant & Stratton College coaching staff was very pleased to hear how well his rehab has been going and is looking forward to having him back in uniform next season.
"Lincoln is a captain of this team and a huge contributor to how well we play." The Bobcats coaching staff stated. "We are extremely excited that he is recovering quickly and looking forward to having our leader back next year."
Prior to his injury, Wieseman was averaging 17.5 points per game and 5.6 rebounds per game. He had started in all fourteen games and was leading the team in scoring while shooting 50.0% from the field.
Although Weiseman is known for his on-court performance, he is also a remarkable student holding a 4.0 G.P.A.
The Bobcats coaching staff has stressed to the team throughout the season that their academic performances are more important than their athletic performances.
"Academics come before anything and Lincoln has shown us that he takes the academic side very seriously, which is exactly what we expect."
Weiseman is currently wearing a removable cast over his injured wrist but has begun participating in team shoot arounds. He is not able to participate in contact drills yet but hopes to be at a full recovery soon.
"I am going to continue to work hard in physical therapy so I can get my body at one hundred percent for this off-season and next year." Weiseman stated. "I am very excited about next season because now myself and the rest of the guys know the system very well."
Currently, the Bobcats stand at 10-14 with six total games remaining, all of which are on the road.
The Bobcats next game takes place tonight, Tuesday, January 31st at 7:00pm, against Kennedy-King College where the team will try to carry over their performance from the previous game and close out the season on a winning streak.
