MILWAUKEE, Wis. (March 1, 2017) – Bryant & Stratton College is ecstatic to announce that freshman guard Lewrenzo Byers has been named to the NJCAA Division II District 4 Second Team.
At the end of each season the head coaches' in region IV vote on the top players to make up two district teams and Byers was a name the coaches had to consider.
The District 4 First Team and District 4 Second Team are both compiled of five players each and Byers earned one of the ten available spots.
Byers was the key scorer and play-maker this season for the Bobcats as he led the team in scoring at 14.7 points per game while shooting 41.5% from the field and 38.2% beyond the arc.
The six-foot freshman definitely made a name for himself in the region this year as he scored over 20 points in six games including a 27 point game in his final contest of the season.
At the conclusion of the season Byers was a top 35 scorer in the entire region and ranked 36 in assists per game.
The Bobcats finished 11-18 overall including 7-8 in region play. The team will look forward to training this off-season and be ready to compete for a regional championship next season.
