MILWAUKEE, WI (November 27, 2017) – The Bryant & Stratton College men's basketball team hosted a regional match-up on Saturday and fell short 66-59 against a very tough Carl Sandburg College team. The Bobcats fall to 3-5 overall and 2-2 in the region.
The Carl Sandburg College Chargers improved to 8-2 overall and 3-1 in region play.
To start the half, the Bobcats struggled shooting offensively which led to changes in the offensive game plan.
"There will be times throughout the course of the game where shots just won't fall and that is when you have to find other ways to score and impact the game," Bobcats head coach Brian Richert said.
The Bobcats shot 31% from the field in the first half and 16% from beyond the arc.
Despite the poor shooting, the Bobcats were able to make a run with two minutes remaining and trail only eight at the break.
"One thing about this team is they do not stop competing," Richert said. "No matter what the score shows we continue to battle and not give up."
The Bobcats came out of the gates fast to start the second half and trailed only by three points with 11 minutes remaining in the game.
With five minutes left in the contest, the Bobcats managed to tie the game 52-52.
After multiple defensive lapses and careless turnovers by the Bobcats, the Chargers were able to put together a run down the stretch and seal the deal.
Lincoln Wieseman (Lake Geneva, WI) led the way for the Bobcats with 25 points and 13 rebounds followed by Jarel Triplett with 10 points off the bench.
The Bobcats have won three of their last five games and are 1-1 at home this season.
The Bobcats will go on the road to Chicago, IL to square off against Malcom X College on Tuesday. Tip-off will take place at 7:00pm. Malcom X College sits at 4-0 overall and 1-0 in region play.
