WAUWATOSA, WI (February 3, 2018) - The Bryant & Strattton College men's basketball team made some noise this past Saturday after knocking off the #18 Dakota County Technical College Blue Knights 89-80.
The win improved the Bobcats to 18-7 overall and 15-2 in region play.
Bryant & Stratton had five players scoring in double figures and six players accounted for the team's grand total of 89 points.
Floor general Justin Brookens led the way for the Bobcats with 26 points on 9-17 shooting from the field.
Freshman guard Manny Jingco dropped 18 points on 50% shooting followed by Chris Thompson scoring 13 points and six rebounds.
Sophomore guards Joe Duty and Kyle McDermed added 12 points a-piece and freshman forward Jose Sosa was just shy of a double-double contributing eight points and 11 boards.
Bryant & Stratton shot 46.9% from the field and 48.1% from distance which is the second best shooting percetange from beyond the arc for the Bobcats this season.
A back and forth battle throughout the first 20 mintues of action resulted in a Bryant & Stratton 41-35 edge over Dakota County Tech. at the break.
In the first four minutes of the second half, the Bobcats had their offense flowing as they broke out on a 13-0 run after Sosa knocked down a shot from 20 feet extending the lead to 54-35.
At the mid-point of the second half, the Bobcats lifted their 19 point lead to 24 (72-48) after Sosa knocked down 2-2 at the charity stripe.
Despite a solid effort from the Blue Knights down the stretch, Bryant & Stratton went on their way to earn their 18th win of the season as they held an 87-73 advantage with two minutes left in the game.
A stellar win for the Bobcats marks as their fifth consecutive victory.

Bryant & Stratton will stay on the road this week as they travel to Kenosha, WI Tuesday night to square off against Carthage College.
Tip-off will take place at 6:00pm.
