WAUWATOSA, WI (February 18, 2019) - The Bryant & Stratton College men's basketball team's 92-70 win over the Illinois Valley Community College Eagles on Friday night marked as their ninth consecutive win heading into the final game of the regular season.
The win improved the Bobcats to 22-7 overall and 16-2 in region play.
Bryant & Stratton had three players scoring in double figures as freshman point guard Justin Brookens led the way for the Bobcats with a team-high 24 points on 10-16 shooting from the field.
Sophomore guard Joe Duty dropped 23 points on 8-11 shooting while freshman guard Manny Jingco added 11 points, five rebounds, three assists and three rebounds.
At the midway point of the first half, the Bobcats held a 25-16 lead after Brookens knocked down a shot from long distance.
Brookens has averaged 24.4 points per game in the last five contests.
Over the course of a seven minute span, Bryant & Stratton extended their to 16 points (32-16) after going on a 7-0 run.
With two minutes remaining in the half continued to execute offensively as well as hold the Eagles down defensively as they led 46-26 at the break.
To start the second half, it was Duty who kept things rolling for the Bobcats after knocking down a baseline jumper and stretching the lead to 22 points.
Building upon their momentum, the Bobcats led 70-39 with 10 minutes remaining and no signs of an Eagles comeback.
The Bobcats shot just .4% below their season average at 44.9% from the field as well as 40.0% from distance.

Bryant & Stratton will travel to cross town rivals Milwaukee Area Technical College (25-4, 17-4 region) on Tuesday evening for the final game of the regular season.
Tip-off will take place at 8:00pm.
The result of the contest will impact playoff seeding as both teams are fighting for one of the top two seeds.
