MILWAUKEE, Wis. (September 1st, 2017) – The Bryant & Stratton College men's golf team traveled to Sherrard, Illinois yesterday for the Charger Classic where they finished in eighth place.
The 18-hole event consisted of 12 colleges from Illinois and Wisconsin. Each team competed with four golfers. All four players scores were combined to determine the results of the tournament.
Garrett Waloway finished the round shooting 79 while Tyler Murrie followed right behind finishing with a score of 81.
Maxwell Rohlinger shot an 82 and Aaron Gosse finished shooting 87.
"We improved a lot from our opening tournament," Bobcats head coach Andy Runkel said. "All four of them played much better and I know we will continue to get better every day."
The Bobcats finished the day with a combined score of 329 putting them just four strokes away from placing in the tournament.
"We were right there," Runkel said. "We competed very well and just a couple better shots here and there would have put us over the top."
Up next for the Bobcats will be the Skyhawk Invitational in Sterling, Illinois on September 15th. Tee-off begins at 12:30pm.
The Bobcats will prepare heavily these next two weeks as they look to capture their first victory of the season.
