Bryant & Stratton College softball sweeps South Suburban
South Holland, Ill. — The Bryant & Stratton College softball team was back on the road following a sweep of the MATC Stormers. It traveled to South Suburban to take on the Bulldogs. They had knocked the Bobcats out of the playoffs last year and Bryant & Stratton looked to extract revenge from last season’s result.
Game 1 | Bryant & Stratton 11, South Suburban 7
Lizzy Wesoloski got the ball rolling for the Bobcats with a two-run RBI double in the first inning. Macey Clark started in the circle and she recorded a scoreless inning. The Bobcats led 5-1 after 2 1⁄2 innings and Clark looked to turn away the Bulldogs, but they had different plans. They tied the game at five thanks to three doubles, a single and a walk.
Clark was pulled after the inning, which matched her shortest outing since March 9.
But Wesoloski wouldn’t let the Bobcats lose momentum and she gave them the lead right away in the fifth with a two-run triple. Joscelyn Bennett tacked on another run with an RBI single and the lead was up to three.
Holly Lowenberg took over in the circle and gave up just two runs the rest of the way. The Bobcats also added three more insurance runs in the top of the seventh to secure the victory.
