Donaldson Earns NJCAA Second Team All-American

Milwaukee, Wis. (April 17, 2017) – Bryant & Stratton College is ecstatic to announce that women's basketball player Kiara Donaldson has earned NJCAA Second Team All-American, which marks her as the first All-American in the programs history.
The NJCAA compiles All-American athletes into three separate teams (First, Second, and Third). Each team consists of 10 players. Donaldson rightfully earned a spot on the Second Team.
The 5'7" guard concluded the season averaging 24.5 points per game while shooting over 50 percent from the field. Donaldson holds the school record for most points in a single game at 40 which took place at home on January 20th, 2017.
She was one-of-four freshman to obtain a spot on the Second Team.
Donaldson (Hope Christian High School, Milwaukee) earned numerous awards for her performance all season long which includes Region IV Division II District L Player of the Year, First Team All-Region, and a four-time Region IV Player of the Week. Although those awards are magnificent, being recognized as an All-American definitely sits at the top of the list for Donaldson. Awards
"Kiara is a great example of what hard work can do for you," Lorenz said. "She has put so much work into her individual game and I am so proud of what she was able to accomplish this past season."
Donaldson played in all 27 games this season and was the key component to the Bobcats 17-10 overall record.
"The bar does not stop here for Kiara though," Lorenz said. "As a coaching staff we know what she is capable of and we will look for her to improve even more next season."
Donaldson marks as the fourth All-American Lorenz has produced in his career including three at Milwaukee Area Technical College.
Donaldson and the team will celebrate this outstanding accomplishment and then quickly get back to preparing for next season.
