
BSC Baseball Splits at Schreiner University
Opening up the first day of the of the San Antonio, TX spring break trip, the Bryant & Stratton College baseball team split 1-1 against the Schreiner University Mountaineers. The Bobcats suffered a 2-0 loss to the Mountaineers in game one but bounced back with an 11-7 win in game two.
WAUWATOSA, WI (March 12, 2019) - Opening up the first day of the of the San Antonio, TX spring break trip, the Bryant & Stratton College baseball team split 1-1 against the Schreiner University Mountaineers. The Bobcats suffered a 2-0 loss to the Mountaineers in game one but bounced back with an 11-7 win in game two.
The win improves Bryant & Stratton to 1-3 overall on the season with four games remaining on the trip.
Game 1 vs Schreiner University (2-0 Loss)
A scoreless first inning led to the Mountaineers taking a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the second and the Bobcats were never able to recover.
Ryan Kalinowski (Fr.) led the way for the Bobcats with two hits including a double followed by Keanu Walkush (So.) with one hit.
Pitcher Leighton Myers (So.) threw six innings giving up one earned run and five hits.
Game 2 vs Schreiner University (11-7 Win)
Bryant & Stratton struck first in game two after Walkush doubled on a line drive to center bringing home Peyton Tisi (So.) for the first run of the game.
Despite the momentum on the Bobcats side, the Mountaineers retaliated quickly scoring four runs in the bottom of the inning to lead 4-1.
In the top of the fourth, the Bobcats tacked on three runs after Malik Hill (So.) drove in two and Parker Walker (So.) drove in one.
With the score tired at 4-4, the Mountaineers scored one in the bottom of the fourth to take a 5-4 lead.
Trailing by one, the Bobcats pulled away in the top of the sixth scoring six runs and sealing the win.
Walker led the way for the Bobcats offensively with two hits and one RBI followed by Hill with one hit and two RBI's.
Starting pitcher Pedro Chayeb threw 2.1 innings with two strikeouts.

Bryant & Stratton will continue on with their spring trip as they travel to Laredo, TX to take on Laredo Community College.
First pitch will take place at 1:00pm.
