GRAYSLAKE, IL (March 21, 2019) - In their first region game of the 2019 season, the Bryant & Stratton College baseball team (2-7) fell short on the road at College of Lake County (5-6-1) 9-7 in nine innings of play.
Bryant & Stratton produced eight hits on the day to the Lancers 10 hits.

Getting off to a quick start, the Bobcats put two on the board in the top of the first.
Despite the early momentum, the Lancers retaliated in the bottom of the inning scoring two runs of their own.
After a scoreless second and third inning, Bryant & Stratton took a 3-2 lead in the top of the fourth after Kyle Taran (So.) singled on a line drive to center field bringing home Malik Hill (So.).
In the bottom of the fifth, the Lancers bats came alive as they tacked on three runs taking a 5-3 edge but the Bobcats tied managed to tie the game in the top of the sixth after Alec Spang (Fr.) doubled on a fly ball to left field.
With the scored tied at 5-5 heading into the bottom of the eighth, the Lancers gained all of the momentum scoring four runs which was too much for the Bobcats to overcome in the final inning.
Spang led the way for the Bobcats with two hits and two RBI's followed by Hill with one hit and two walks.
Starting pitcher Eloy Puentes (Fr.) threw 5.1 innings giving up three earned runs and striking out five.

Bryant & Stratton will have their home opener on Tuesday as they host the Morton College Panthers for a double header.
First pitch of game one will be thrown at 2:30pm.
The Bobcats suffered a 15-8 loss in game one last season against the Panthers but bounced back in game two earning a 5-4 victory which marked as the programs first win in history.
