WAUWATOSA, WI (April 1, 2019) - In their home opener of the season, the Bryant & Stratton College baseball team came up short to the Bay College Norse on Saturday 7-4 in game one and 8-0 in game two.
The losses drop the Bobcats to 4-11 on the season but remain 2-3 in region play.
Game one vs Bay College (7-4 Loss)
With the score tied at 1-1 in the top of the sixth, Bay College managed to score three runs and take a 4-1 lead.
Responding to the Norse momentum, the Bobcats tacked on two of their own in the bottom of the inning after Ryan Kalinowski (So.) tripled on a fly ball to center and Park Walker (So.) brought in one on a ground ball to second base.
Holding onto a 4-3 advantage, Bay College extended their lead scoring three more runs in the top of the seventh to earn the win.
Bryant & Stratton produced nine total hits as Keanu Walkush (So.) finished the game with three hits followed by Malik Hill (So.) with two hits.
On the mound Anthony Ortiz (Fr.) threw 5.0 innings allowing four earned runs.
Game two vs Bay College (8-0 Loss)
The bats were ice cold for the Bobcats in game two as they produced only two total hits as a team.
Alec Spang (Fr.) and Kyle Taran (So.) accounted for the two total hits for the Bobcats.
Starting pitcher Malik Jihad (Fr.) threw 2.0 innings striking out two.

Bryant & Stratton will travel to College of Lake County on Tuesday for a rematch. The Bobcats suffered a 9-7 loss in the middle of April to the Lancers and will look to come away with two victories this time around.
First pitch for game one will be tossed at 2:00pm.
