WAUWATOSA, WI (April 8, 2019) - Saturday's double header against Olive-Harvey College was all positives for the Bryant & Stratton College baseball team (7-12) as they earned a series sweep over the Panthers 9-1 in game one and 11-5 in game two.
Bryant & Stratton has won three out of their last four contests while producing 44 total runs in four games.
Game one vs Olive-Harvey College (9-1 Win)
The Bobcats got their offense rolling early as they tacked on four runs in the bottom of the first. Alec Spang (Fr.) brought in the first run of the game reaching first base on an errior from the Panthers. Malik Hill (So.) brought in run number two for the Bobcats on sacrifice fly to center field and Parker Walker (So.) drove home the final two runs of the inning on a line drive double to right field.
In the bottom of the third, Bryant & Stratton put four more runs up on the board to take a commanding 8-0 lead.
The Bobcats held the Panthers scoreless through four innings before eventually allowing one run in the top of the fifth.
Walker led the way for Bryant & Stratton with two hits and four RBI's followed by Keanu Walkush (So.) with two hits and two RBI's.
Ryan Kalinowski (Fr.), Spang and Hill each concluded with an RBI of their own.
Walker tossed all seven innings for the Bobats striking out five with 0 earned runs.
Game 2 vs Olive Harvey College (11-5 Win)
In game two, it was Olive-Harvey striking first as they took a 2-0 lead in the top of the first.
Bryant & Stratton did not take long to retaliate though as Leighton Myers (So.) launched a two-run shot in the bottom of the second to tie the game at 2-2.
Following the homerun, the Bobcats tacked on two more runs in the inning taking a 4-2 lead.
The Panthers managed to earn back a run in the top of the third but that was quickly eliminated as the Bobcats scored two runs in the bottom of the inning to lead 6-3.
A scoreless fourth and fifth led to the Panthers crossing the plate twice in the sixth cutting the deficit to 6-5.
In the bottom of the sixth, Bryant & Stratton took care of business scoring five runs which included a three-run shot to left field from Myers to take an 11-5 lead and earn the win.
Myers led the way offensively for the Bobcats with two hits, two homeruns and six RBI's.
Nicholas Perez (So.) finished with three hits and one RBI.
Starting pitcher Malik Jihad (Fr.) earned his first win of the season throwing five innings while allowing four earned runs.
UP NEXT:
Bryant & Stratton will travel to Cicero, IL on Monday afternoon to take on Morton College for a double header.
First pitch of game one will be tossed at 2:30pm.
The Bobcats split with Morton College earlier this season in March but will look to take both games this time around.
